The Azure Data Architect will be responsible for architecting transformation and modernization of an enterprise analytics solution using AZURE cloud integrating native AZURE services and customized data technologies. A solid experience and understanding of considerations for large scale architecture, solutioning and operationalization of data warehouses, data lakes and analytics platforms on AZURE is a must.
We are seeking for candidates who have a broad set of technology skills across these areas and who can demonstrate an ability to design right solutions with appropriate combination of Azure and custom technologies for deploying on Azure cloud.
Responsibilities
- As a lead architect, work with implementation teams from concept to operations, providing deep technical subject matter expertise for successfully deploying large scale data solutions in the enterprise, using modern data/analytics technologies on premise and cloud
- Create detailed target state technical, security, data and operational architecture and design blueprints incorporating modern data technologies and cloud data services demonstrating modernization value proposition
- Lead technical implementation teams in an Agile Scrum framework to design and deliver the next generation of state of enterprise cloud analytics implementation and architect a path to transformation into a modern data powered enterprise
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and analytics applications using one or more of Azure data and analytics services in combination with custom solutions - Spark, Azure Data Lake, HDInsights, SQL DW, DocumentDB, Search, Elastic Pool etc.
- Up to 5-7 years of hands-on experience analyzing, re-architecting and re-platforming on-premise data warehouses to data platforms on Azure cloud using Azure/custom services
- Up to 5-7 years of designing and building production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture, using Java, Python, Scala etc.
- Minimum 5-7 years of architecting and implementing next generation data and analytics platforms on Azure cloud
- Minimum 5-7 years of designing and implementing data engineering, ingestion and curation functions on Azure cloud using Azure native or custom programming
- Significant experience in performing detail assessments of current state data platforms and creating an appropriate transition path to Azure cloud
- Hands-on Azure experience with a demonstrated history of solutions designed and implemented at production scale
- Enterprise Consumer Package Goods experience a plus
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Science and / or 3+ years of technical architecture and build experience with large scale solutions
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in architecting large-scale data solutions, performing architectural assessments, crafting architectural options and analysis, finalizing preferred solution alternative working with IT and Business stakeholders
- Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data ingestion solutions on Azure using Azure native services, Azure Data Factory or using custom approaches (tools including Talend, Informatica)
- Minimum 5-7 years of architecting and operating large production Hadoop/NoSQL clusters on premise or using Cloud services
- Significant hands-on experience architecting and designing data lakes on Azure cloud serving analytics and BI application integrations, including Hadoop to cloud architecture
- 5-7 years of experience in designing and optimizing data models on AZURE cloud using Azure data stores such as Redshift, RDS
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience integrating AZURE security services with AZURE data services for building secure data solutions
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience introducing and operationalizing self-service data preparation tools (e.g. Trifacta, Paxata) on AZURE
- Minimum 5-7 years architecting and implementing metadata management on Azure
- Craft and lead client design workshops and provide tradeoffs and recommendations towards building a solutions
