About the job
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you’ll work hands on with one or more engineering teams to plan and execute business initiatives, including A/B tests, feature/product launches and platform improvements. Using your communication, problem solving, project management and technical skills, you’ll help bridge the gap between Product and Engineering, empowering teams to bring complex ideas to life.
While Product Owners at HelloTech focus on deciding which initiatives their squads should work on and why, TPMs work closely with the engineering team to determine how and when they’ll deliver those initiatives, then manage the delivery.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Driving the process of transforming business requirements into actionable delivery plans
- Building and maintaining a roadmap for the initiatives in a team’s backlog
- Communicating with other squads to manage dependencies and mitigate risks
- Facilitating planning sessions, tracking the progress of individual tasks and proactively surfacing and removing blockers
- Optimizing a team’s working processes
- Promoting a culture of autonomy, ownership and continuous improvement
Who we’re looking for:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field is desired
3+ years' experience in a related role - Background in Engineering is a huge plus
- You have previous experience working as a technical program manager, technical project manager, delivery lead or scrum master in an agile environment
- You are excited about coordinating feature development and project execution across the full development cycle
- You are able to quickly synthesize and communicate the essentials for stakeholders and the backbone to say No
- You have a solid technical understanding, especially web and mobile technologies
- You have strong organizational and project tracking skills
- You have excellent communication skills
- Being a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
