Software QA Developer II at Cottonwood Financial (Dallas, TX)

Reporting to our Solutions Development Manager, the Software QA Developer II (a.k.a. Solutions Developer II - QA) will be responsible for developing solutions, using Microsoft technologies, on both individual and team projects. More specifically, this position will be creating internal Cottonwood Financial software applications/processes and extending or enhancing third party software applications used to enhance our internal QA/Testing processes. In addition, the Software QA Developer II will support the software development life cycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering, technical design, change management, unit testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing through production release. This position is based at our Administrative Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), Texas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop solutions using C# .NET, SQL Server, Transact SQL (T-SQL)
  • Develop solutions using Entity Framework or other ORM tool(s)
  • Develop solutions utilizing Service Oriented Architecture design principles
  • Develop solutions using Web Services/API Technologies
  • Develop solutions using Microsoft Coded UI and Automated Testing
  • Managing and Extending Continuous Integration processes using Octopus Deploy
  • Create data models to support software application development projects
  • Support the Solutions Development Manager throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Track software test results and report status to management
  • Optimize software configuration (includes application settings, data structures, reporting, defect repair, and alternative processes if required)
  • Conduct requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and develop business, technical requirements, and test plans
  • Communicate technical solutions to non-technical end-users
  • Manage tasks and projects related to software/application development
  • Work with other departments to coordinate the implementation of new software and accompanying processes
  • Utilize skills to troubleshoot and/or solve problems creatively
  • Plan and implement regression and user acceptance testing and provide reports
  • Develop documentation of systems, policies, and procedures

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Experience in SQL (T-SQL) Scripts, and/or Programming
  • Experience in programming using C# .Net
  • Experience in automated testing for UI (WPF, WinForms, Web Pages, Console), Web Services, and Unit Tests
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to understand and explain procedures in writing or verbally
  • Propensity to learn and invest time to further advance technological skillsets
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only no relocation
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • .Net Certification
  • Windows Communication Foundation
  • Experience developing web applications, including the use of CSS and jQuery (jQuery, UI, AJAX, JSON)
  • Experience with Testing Tools like SmartBear or HP TestCenter
  • Experience using WPF
  • Visual Studio 2013/2015/2017
  • TFS Version control system
  • TFS Test Explorer

COMPENSATION
  • Annual salary of $ 85,200
