As an IT Support Specialist, you will work with various technologies and system supporting the IT operations. In this position, you may work on implementing IT process improvements, enterprise-level hardware, Software, and multiple platforms as a service. You may play multiple roles during the execution of your duties to include, Networking, Physical infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, Software and Digital tool analysis and implementation, helpdesk, strategic planning, and more.

As an IT Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and maintain physical servers, networks, firewalls, VPNs, printers, and a variety of audio/video equipment
  • Manage and maintain Office365 and Active directory
  • Manage and maintain a hybrid virtualized environment
  • Manage and maintain systems and services in the cloud, both in AWS and Azure
  • Maintain clear documentation of systems configurations, architecture, and standard operating procedures
  • Implement security best practices, report any identified vulnerabilities, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform analysis, diagnose problems, and implement corrective solutions for users hardware and software
  • Escalate unsolved issues or problems to supervisor in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for the RMA and repair process for all devices under warranty.
  • Document the situational facts, activities, and resolutions during troubleshooting activities.
  • Execute the IT Lifecycle management, planning, and communication to ensure maximum utilization and minimal cost to the business
  • Manage the equipment inventory, including the location and status of each item
  • Educate team members on IT and security best practices
  • Identify, track, and periodically report IT cost, potential savings, and areas of improvement to the business
  • Participate in small/short-term projects supporting business activities, technology upgrades, rollouts, etc.
  • Participate in learning new technologies and career development opportunities as presented in an effort to progress to higher-level positions within the IT network.
  • Deliver virtual server maintenance and software upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, vulnerabilities, and security configurations with minimal software downtime          
  • Establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Provide accurate and consistent status reports to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Root cause analysis and high-level technical troubleshooting experience required
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with technical and non-technical users
  • Translate non-technical business requirements into workable solutions.
  • Ability to produce architecture diagrams and requisite documentation
  • Technical experience administering Office 365 and Microsoft applications to include Office 2016+, Visio, Project, and SSMS.
  • Familiarity with Hypervisor technologies, Hyper-V preferred
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies, AWS preferred
  • Management of VoIP PaaS technologies
  • Technical experience with Fortigate-100 series firewall and knowledge of Cisco PIX/ASA firewalls  
  • Working knowledge of Remedy Management System preferred
  • Experience with Ticketing systems, Ticket Management, Escalations and SLAs  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong Windows Systems Administrations background (Windows 7, 8.1,10, Server 2008+)
  • Experience with managing Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Experience with enterprise storage management and backup solutions in a windows server environment
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, VB, Bash, etc)
  • Solid understanding of industry-standard network technologies
  • Ability to produce architecture diagrams and requisite documentation

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a technology field or equivalent experience and training acceptable in lieu of degree; with 2+ years of IT infrastructure work experience including Microsoft technologies such as Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Clustering.
