Summary
This position is best suited for an experienced endpoint security engineer with experience across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms.
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of security concepts, as well as a deep technical understanding of the Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
The successful candidate will also need to possess strong communication skills to work across technical teams in the organization.
The Endpoint Security Engineer will be responsible for reviewing current and future protection technologies, while working with our internal customers to enhance the protection and detection capabilities of those tools.
The Endpoint Security Engineer will be Cigna Information Protections AV and EDR subject matter expert.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review current Endpoint protection controls and work with Incident Response and Data Loss Protection to develop enhanced protection/detection capabilities
- Lead technical design and execution for large, global application or infrastructure projects that have a major impact on the IT infrastructure Analyze and research current threat vectors and attack methods to develop prevention and detection policies
- Work with various platform teams to test and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of current and new security tools
- Provide 3rd level support and troubleshooting for issues escalated from more junior engineers on installed technical solutions
- Provide input; help prepare, and update endpoint security roadmap
- Develop close working partnerships with functional senior leaders to ensure analysts have the support, products, and permissions they need to accomplish their mission
- Detailed knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems
- Ability to ensure activities are in alignment with the business objectives and risk management framework
- Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
- Experience working with platform owners to troubleshoot and resolve performance/availability issues
- Ability to work across technical teams in the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work with matrixed resources in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in technical writing
- Ability to ensure activities are in alignment with the business objectives and risk management framework
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least 5 years security engineering experience in mid-sized to large organizations.
- SANS Training completed is preferred
- One or more of the following certifications is preferred: CISSP, CCNA Security +, AWS Security, CCNP Security, CCIE, CCSP, CCIE, CCA, ITIL
