What you will be doing.
The Sr. System Programmer must have strong requirements gathering, project scoping and analytical leadership skills in maintaining and supporting multiple applications and deadlines. The position is responsible for executing all aspects of application development work efforts including project analysis, requirements gathering, technical specification, development/build, unit testing, end user acceptance testing, production deployment, devOps functions and post-implementation support. The position will require someone who can work on ad-hoc requests as an individual performer. On larger projects the programmer will work with the assigned project manager in design, execution and delivery.
QualificationsRequirements:
- Efficient in understanding the Infrastructure, Software Architecture and other Technicalities of the Big Data Platform, Cloud Computing, HDFS and Hadoop system applications
- Experience in Continuous Integration, customizing tools like Jenkins and Bamboo
- Experience in developing Infrastructure Automation and configuration scripts like Ansible, Terraform, Chef and Puppet
- Cloud Infrastructure Automation & Orchestration
- Knowledge of Orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm and Nomad
- Experience developing, maintaining and supporting batch jobs/processes
- Experience with Bitbucket and Git
- Proficient in Spark
- Thorough coding skills in Scala, Python, Linux
- Good knowledge on Structured and unstructured Data Models
- Knowledge of SQL and No SQL databases
- Ability to work with internal teams and vendors on APIs, file transfers or other interfaces
- Experience with code management tools and change control processes.
- Strong analytical and communication/presentation skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- UNIX or Linux and windows
- Experience with agile methodology.
- Good communication skills oral and written
- Ability to write and execute test plans
