We are currently seeking a Technical Product Manager to be responsible for the product strategy, delivery, coordination and tracking of certain key projects/initiatives within the data management organization of our Media client's Analytics COE group. This will include developing project plans, resource plans, risk identification, risk mitigation, timelines and partnering with business and technology. The candidate must have an in-depth understanding of data management and data warehousing concepts and technologies. This role is a key position within the Data Management group and requires an individual capable of navigating a complex technical environment.

Core Responsibilities: 



  • Partner our vendors to build and customize a software product to requirements. 

  • Manage the complete software development process including planning, design, implementation, testing, debugging and tuning, as well as iterative post-production enhancements

  • Drive project initiation, scoping, and planning;

  • Coordinate development efforts across teams and products.

  • Interact with data stewards and technical teams to ensure proper Data Governance.

  • Write and maintain user stories in a tracking tool throughout the entire software development life cycle

  • Establish good working relationships with project sponsors from business and technology groups;

  • Develop staffing and resource management plans;

  • Assess project/program progress, and provide status updates to leadership;

  • Evaluate project risk(s) and effectively create mitigation plans;

  • Develop standard communication protocols and documentation templates;

  • Design, implement, and maintain standard processes & methodologies for project/program execution;

  • Serve as the expert in project management and organization.

  • Collaborate with business users, internal and external technology teams in order to deliver a scalable application that exceeds requirements ensuring compliance with enterprise standards

  • Identify new opportunities, tools, and services to enhance the custom software platform;

  • Support and troubleshoot issues (process & system), identify root cause, and proactively recommend sustainable corrective actions;


Skills & Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Information Systems, or Engineering

  • 5+ years’ experience in project/product management in technology groups

  • 5+ years’ experience with Data Warehouse technologies such Teradata, Oracle Exalytics 

  • 5+ Experience with ELT tools like Informatica, Talend, ODI etc.

  • Knowledge of Big Data and related technologies

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure

  • Knowledge of data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica

  • Knowledge of data catalog tools like Collibra, Waterline, Alation

  • 3+ Experience in application development projects. 

  • Experience in creating resource plans, estimating efforts, and mitigating resource risks

  • Experience working in an Agile environment; knowledge of SCRUM framework a plus

  • Strong presentation skills, from creation of a PowerPoint document to the actual delivery of the presentation

  • Strong experience with core Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint) and/or Rally

  • Experience working with teams comprised of employees and consultants from multiple vendors

  • Hands on experience with meeting facilitation, task management, time management, taking minutes, managing documentation, and action item management in both formal and informal settings

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
