Force is seeking a passionate DevOps engineer — the operations engineer with a knack for code, or the programmer who’s grown to embrace systems.
What you’ll be doing:
You will be helping tune our deployment processes and scaling out our infrastructure -- in a nutshell, helping to make our developers more productive and ensuring the reliability of our systems.
Skills:
- Master the overall site architecture and look for ways to improve the AWS cloud infrastructure
- Continuously improve the tools and processes for continuous deployment, orchestration, and provisioning
- Maintain, scale, and distribute critical systems such as databases, work with developers to remove scalability bottlenecks such as slow database queries
- Manage backups and disaster recovery and lead disaster recovery drills
- Working in an Agile/Scrum process with developers, maintain and improve testing environments
- Support QA function by enabling automated testing with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
- Create, setup, and run performance tests to help determine optimal hosting configurations
- Help ensure site reliability with target > 99% site uptime
- Monitor overall site performance, stability, and health, including being on call for site issues
- Experience configuring a server using a configuration management tool like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with caching technologies like Redis / Elasticache
- Experience with Git
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration
What we’re looking for:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related experience
- 5+ years experience in supporting systems in a fast-paced environment with a complex distribution system
- A love for building scalable, high performance systems
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Self-starter, able to work with little or no supervision
- Reliable team member to help us debug on and off hours
