We’re looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to join our Services Team.
As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will provide leadership in the form of inspiration. Your impact and thought leadership will be felt within your team and across the organization. Staff Engineers at GIPHY lead by example with hands on the keyboard, provide technical guidance and help the entire company run more smoothly.
The Services Team focuses its efforts on microservice and software architecture. As a Services Engineer, you’ll work closely with engineers across the organization to ensure GIPHY systems remain extensible, maintainable, scalable, predictable, and reliable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical initiatives from inception to completion.
- Build and improve our modern infrastructure and systems
- Mentor other engineers to develop their skills.
- Lead by example in all aspects of software engineering.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience on JVM with an interest in Scala
- 3+ years experience with microservice architecture
- 2+ years leading projects
- Experience working with a production environment with minimal downtime
- Positive attitude, and a self-directed work ethic
- Ideally start-up experience
- Ideally team lead experience
- Ideally exposure to container orchestration (Docker/Meso/Marathon/K8s)
