Vice President, Software Engineering at JP Morgan Chase (Tampa, FL)

Duties: Work with business and IT leadership to understand IT business strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. Accountable to Business and Technology Management for end to end application scoping, requirements analysis, planning, development implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. Prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff; manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems; and oversee Operations Monitoring and Capacity Management. Oversee and manage the relationship with internal and external services vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies; work with Application Developers and Business Managers to define and monitor Service Level Agreement's and negotiate appropriate support commitments for existing products. Create playbooks/scripts for production code installs and execute them on release day. Support recruiting and hiring efforts and provide coaching and mentoring to new and junior resources. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum education required: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field.



Minimum experience required: Five (5) years of experience in Application Development, or related technology experience.


 


*Skills required:Experience leading software development lifecycle processes. Experience with common programming languages Java, C, or C++. Experience working as a lead developer. Experience working in the payments processing industry. Experience leading projects through all phases of software development. Experience leading Agile teams and applying Agile principles. Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation of test-driven development. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
