Engineering is a core part of who we are; every year our systems process tens of millions of reservations across 160 countries. It's an exciting time here as we're transforming to build a 100% API-driven, containerised product ecosystem.
Currently we’re searching for an experienced Software Engineer who loves all things Node.js. Our new technology stack is centred on Node.js in the backend and also includes Java and Ruby, with Angular and Vue.js in the frontend. We are always experimenting with new technologies that help us solve challenging problems at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and code high quality software that is simple, efficient and testable.
- Keep up with best practices, latest technologies and programming languages / frameworks as needed.
Who you are
- Experienced in multiple languages such as Node / Java / Ruby / Golang, have a polyglot mindset and a desire to learn and use different technologies
- Love simplicity and code that just works
- Google and StackOverflow are your best friends
- Ideally have AWS experience across the following products: EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Elasticache, Lambda, S3
- Ideally know how to structure, develop and maintain relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle)
- Experienced with or want to learn key/value store databases, for example, DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis
- Understand code testability, build pipelines, docker and CI/CD systems
- You are opinionated but think collaboration and teamwork are the keys to success
