Software Engineer

Classification: Full-Time /Exempt
Reports To: Director of Software Development
General Summary and Purpose:
We’re looking for an experienced software engineer who can design, implement, and expand our cloud-based, public-facing web application. You will develop, enhance and maintain Django, Java, MongoDB and PostGreSQL, and RESTful APIs. Candidates with React and JavaScript experience will receive special consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality software with a DevOps team using Agile methodology with Scrum
- Bring current and future-looking tools and techniques for optimizing team productivity
- Work with operations and development engineers to lead the design and implementation of features and requirements based on user feedback
- Strong communication and cooperation skills
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to Director of Software Development
Job Requirements:
Technical requirements:
- Mission-critical software development
- Team-based collaborative development process and desire to improve upon implementation practices.
- Django development with PostgreSQL and the Django REST Framework
- Knowledge of Agile / Scrum workflow
- Some Java development with Maven
- MongoDB experience a bonus
- Experience with Vagrant + Docker / Virtualization development environment a bonus
- Experience with React a bonus
Job Specifications:
- Education Minimum Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
- Fields of Expertise: Software Engineering | IoT | Software Development | Web Applications
- Supervisor: Senior Software Engineer
