Kraków Global App Testing Tech Talk #1 at Global App Testing (Kraków, Poland)

You are invited to Global App Testing Tech Talk #1!

After London and Cluj Napoca, we are proud to announce the opening of our 3rd international office, in Poland.

And what better way to celebrate than with our first tech meetup in Krakow!

We are organising the first Global App Testing Tech Talk on October 4th. There will be beers, pizzas, insightful talks and networking opportunities.

During the evening, attendees will hear from incredible engineers and mingle with our team (including one of our co-founders) over a beer or two. They will also discover how GAT became a 100+ employee company and was selected as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK; all in less than 5 years!

AGENDA:

17.00: Registration

18.00: Introduction

18.10: The road to full containerization

Do you want to know how we transitioned our infrastructure from a static, Chef based solution to a state of the art containerized one? Why we migrated from AWS to Google Cloud and to AWS back again? How we continuously strive to make our developers' lives easier? If so, this presentation is for you! As an additional bonus, you'll learn some Kubernetes essentials along the way

Speaker: Wieslaw Kielas - DevOps Engineer at Global App Testing
Wiesaw is a DevOps engineer that came to GlobalAppTesting from the vile land of Python users. He is very passionate about automating every part of the infrastructure and, in consequence, the possibilities that cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications offer. As a survivor of corporate management, he strives to keep the everything (including processes) as simple as possible.

18.40: Read models and commands on Rails - patterns for advanced applications

When your application grows, there is an on-going need for patterns to consolidate many sources of truth into a single, coherent model to consume by our views. One of better solutions is thinking of an application as a set of 'reads' and 'writes' - and structure it to follow such an idea. We'll show how it can be done in your Rails app and how to 'think in commands/reads'.

Speaker: Marcin Grzywaczewski - Software Engineer at Global App Testing
Marcin is always thriving for educating people about software development, his biggest passion. His guilty dream would be to write a novel (or two).

19.10: How to deliver a world-class digital experience by taking a Gen-Z approach

It’s been well-documented how essential it is to deliver a consumer-first experience in the digital age - this is taken to new heights when considering Gen-Z. In this talk, we’ll give away our top tips from our experience working with the biggest brands in the world on how to deliver a world-class experience to different types of Gen-Z audiences around the world.

Speaker: Ronald Cummings-John - Co-owner Global App Testing
Ronald has spent years building companies and writing software. After selling his first startup, he's now scaling up Global App Testing - a VC backed crowdsourced testing platform with over 20,000 professional testers globally, which was selected as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the United Kingdom. His passion for QA has sent him around the world working with the top QA and product teams from companies such as Facebook, Microsoft, King.com, Spotify, Dropbox and many more.
