Software Engineering - Java at JP Morgan Chase (Houston, TX)

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. Youll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. Youll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of whats being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, youll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world

 
Responsibilities

• Design code, develop, test and implement per requirements
• 
  
• Ensure compliance to all requirements and maintain accuracy for same and design all technical system documents and architectural standards.
• 
  
• Maintain record of all maintenance release for all applications and maintain knowledge of all enhancements.
• 
  
• Recommend enhancements to all designs and prepare software for all reuse.
• 
  
• Resolve all emergency production issues and ensure appropriate resolution of all issues within required time-frame.
• 
  
• Document all designs and perform all unit tests and develop appropriate applications.
• 
  
• Design code for all system design and prepare efficient application programming interfaces.
• 
  
• Participate in code reviews, identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues, review and provide feedback to any required final user documentation.
• 
  
• Provide implementation support
• 
  
• Ensure quality of deliverables, set development standards in areas of code quality, test coverage, monitoring, logging, exception management, documentation and others.
• 
  
• Collaborate and build relationships with analysts, project managers, other development teams, operate and operations partners, and clients.
• 
  
• Ability to go across technology stack from Java , Database, web
• 
  
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies

  Required Skills and Qualifications
  
  
• 7+ years of recent experience predominantly in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Struts,Unix/Linux including shell scripts, Oracle ,XML/XSLT.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of programming paradigms such as distributed architectures and multi-threaded program design.
• 
  
• Experience in developing applications using rules engines, complex event processing and memory cache software
• 
  
• Must have strong knowledge in Object oriented development, version control, release management, change management.
• 
  
• Experience in middleware interfaces, including MQ, JAXB, XML, SOAP, XSLT, MQ, OSGI, and web services 
• 
  
• 
  Agile development experience including test driven development ( Junit, Selenium..etc)
• 
  
• 
  Experience with source control tools, such as bitbucket
• 
  
• 
  Experience with the phases of the traditional Software Development Life Cycle
• 
  
• Develop Unit Test Plan, associated Unit Test Case and Unit Test results
• 
  
• Interface with businesses and development teams across multiple global locations.
  Experience working with multiple file formats (XML, text, CSV etc.), large data sets,  code debugging and debug defects
• 
  
• Experience in design and development of Dashboard applications, web based applications and real time integration
• 
  
• Ability to convert business requirements into specifications and be able to analyze, design, develop and integrate applications.
• 
  
• Strong technical skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, dedication, innovation, drive for excellence.

• Strong communication skills and able to work effectively in a team environment.
