Dev Technology Group is recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to work in our Reston office. The Senior Software Engineer will be a member of an agile team that is responsible for supporting planning, designing, development, testing, deployment, operations and maintenance of biometric exchange cloud infrastructure, related web applications, and reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a Java full-stack software engineer with experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions with understanding/experience of DevOps culture and its capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain application software following established standards, procedures, and specifications
- Implement approved changes to application software to maintain standards, correct problems, and to modify, develop or enhance functionality
- Collaborate designs with team members to find the solution that best fits the requirements
- Develop improvements to availability, scalability, and performance of the environment including implementation of monitoring tools to facilitate the process
- Support, troubleshoot, monitor and optimize production system
- Support implementation of DevOps techniques such as continuous improvement, release planning, continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing, and continuous monitoring and feedback
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing web applications using Java
- Developing web service with SOAP and XML/JSON RPC
- Integrating application artifacts with CI/CD pipeline
- Experience with RESTful web services
- Experience using Git and Github
- Developing unit tests using JUnit
- Developing in an environment utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat JBoss EAP
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and desire to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Atlassian Jira
- Experience with the dashboard, visualization, and reporting tools (e.g. BIRT, Jaspersoft)
- Experience monitoring and alerting using security and analytics tools such as OWASP ZAP and SonarQube
- Experience hands-on experience working in software development in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with Electronic Biometrics Transmission Specification (EBTS)
- Familiarity with DHS Automated Biometrics Identification System (IDENT) request and response messaging services
- Familiarity with Office of Biometrics Identity Management (OBIM) IDENT eXchange Messaging (IXM) format
- Experience using Apache ActiveMQ
- Experience with NoSQL DB
- Experience with Docker containers
- Experience migrating applications and data from other platforms to cloud environments
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Robot Framework, Selenium)
- Experience developing in .NET
Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree
Clearance: DOS Public Trust or ability to obtain. This Public Trust clearance requires US Citizenship
