Front-end Developer at Nedap (Groenlo, Netherlands)

Two and a half years ago, we started Floor (http://bit.ly/2rEKw8w) as a spinoff of Nedap Healthcare because we believed the way that people with type 2 diabetes were treated was flawed. At Floor, we help people with type 2 diabetes change their lifestyle into a healthy one.

At Floor, we use professional online coaches (we call them mentors) to guide people with type 2 diabetes during their lifestyle change. By doing this online, we make it easier to start and can steer the attention of mentors to the clients that need it most.

We started as a tiny team and still are small, with people from different countries and backgrounds. Now we're looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our team in Groenlo, the Netherlands.

This position is initially on-site, since it will involve a lot of immersion in our product and way of working. However, when it feels right, you have the option of moving to a remote position, if that is what you want.

Who you are

We are looking for an experienced front-end developer who knows their way around in the front-end landscape. Someone who has broad experience with HTML, SCSS/LESS (or similar) and has experience with building large scale JavaScript applications. In our opinion experience isn't defined by years, but by talent.

As we are working with React, Redux and WebRTC to make Floor fluid and interactive, experience with these frameworks is considered a pro. Do you have any additions to this? Great, we're always looking for ways to improve our product.

We're not looking for a rockstar developer or a superhero. But if you consider yourself to have a strong sense of ownership, to be open-minded, daring to ask questions, and a thoughtful, kind and supportive human being, you will find yourself at home on our team.

Speaking Dutch is not a requirement for this job, but wanting to learn Dutch is a big plus. Because most of the people we interact with (people with type 2 diabetes, clinicians, caregivers etc.) only speak Dutch or broken English (though some will surprise you with very fluent English).

What you can expect

You decide what to build, so every day will look different. But most of the time you'll find yourself working on improving existing functionality and building new functionality together with the team, our designers or alone.

A big part of our work is done from our green, friendly and open office in Groenlo, where we serve a good cup of coffee and have a nice restaurant where you can choose to have your lunch. However, as with any Nedap job, you are in charge of the way you work. So, when it feels right, you can decide how you make it work. Your home, our office, a co-working space, you name it.

We don't expect you to work at specific or structured times, but we do expect you to put in quality hours, so when you head home you can live your life, take some rest and recharge.

Sounds great? Okay, let's talk. We're looking forward to it!
