The DevOps team at AppRiver is looking for a senior engineer to join us in paving the way for the next generation of apps and services. We provide Phenomenal support to our QA and Development teams by developing the tools, services, and infrastructure that enable them to produce the software that powers AppRiver’s suite of services.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior SRE, you will guide teams through the Software Development Life Cycle by designing, implementing, and automating the systems and tools needed to take code from the developer’s machine into production. You will be tasked with architecting automated solutions for standing up on-demand environments, providing best practices for CI/CD pipelines, as well as providing documentation and training for implementation. You will be expected to maintain existing on-premises and cloud environments, tune systems and applications for performance, and monitor and respond to production issues both during and after hours. A few other duties of this role include:
- Interfacing daily with Development teams and other departments
- Implementing performance and monitoring solutions to improve service dependability and reliability
- Regularly researching new technology to fill future and current needs
Key Skills:
We work in an Agile environment with development teams utilizing Scrum practices including sprints and Kanban. While we deal heavily in Microsoft technologies, we’re looking for someone well versed in DevOps practices and we utilize industry standard tools as much as possible. The skills we’re most interested in:
- Extensive experience deploying and scaling container technologies in a cloud environment
- CI/CD pipelining with automation end to end including deployment processes and testing
- Background in working with public or private cloud technologies, IaaS and PaaS solution
- Strong system design experience building, deploying, and scaling applications in a distributed computing environment
- Solid understanding of IP networking, including routing, load balancing, and software defined networking, and DNS
- A Strong team player mentality
- Belief in Phenomenal support. Other development teams are your customers and seeing them succeed makes you warm and fuzzy inside
