FinFolio is simplifying wealth management for professional financial advisers. Can you switch rapidy between talking high-level architecture and putting out the latest fire? This is for you! :-) We need somebody to lead our development team, which is a mix of onsite and offshore developers. We recently completed a 2-year pivot from a desktop app to our current modern web app.
Our pivot worked and business is booming. Part of your responsibilities are interacting with the management team, and clients and prospects. We're seeking someone who wants to work in financial software development; a background in finance would be a plus but is not required. We should see some nice growth over the next few years.
This is a hands-on job. You will write some code, but most of your time is spent helping guide the product direction and keeping the team focused on the right things. Startup atmosphere, lots of fun but can be chaotic with hard work. 12/12 on the Joel test
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees product development, ensures projects are completed
- Leadership of onsite developers, offshore consultants and QA (tbd) total team size of 12
- Help write technical portion of product specs
- Estimate time for projects, manage team to hit schedules, timely releases
- Coordinate support/training for technical API clients (a small % of our clients use our API)
- Assist with IT, help make sure our servers are secure and reliable
- Evaluate and implement development systems, new software, best practices
- Enforce quality metrics like code quality, unit test coverage
- Responsible for human resource administration and development (performance management, merit, promotions, etc.).
- Hires and fires, develops and coaches team members
- Leading a diverse, remote team with many moving parts
- Experience with Agile methods, standups, etc.
