Are you a developer or DevOps professional that wants to get into security? Does the concept of +40TB of log data per day excite you? Want to battle cyber criminals every day? Want to work on important problems, your way? Atlassian has an amazing opportunity for you!
The primary focus of your role will be to bring engineering rigor to the Security Team. You'll take ownership of the technical direction of the team's automation, and build new monitoring/analytics systems. You'll be building new systems, developing automation and crushing challenging security problems. More than that, you'll be watching over our corporate environment and Atlassian cloud services, hunting for signs of compromise, and implementing high-fidelity alerts.
Don't worry if you aren't a security pro. If you're a strong engineer with an interest in security, we'll work with you to develop your security skills.
Your day to day will include:
- Writing code to build and contribute to security tools
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining security services and infestructure
- Learning to respond to incidents
- Learning to analyze log data for signs of compromise
- Researching attacker tools and tactics
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 3+ years experience working in development or DevOps role
- Fluency in any modern programming languages (preferably Python, Ruby, Java or Go)
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud service platform
- Experience building and delivering projects from start to finish
- Passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Fluency in C or C++ programming languages
- Experience working in a security role
- Contributions to the security community or open source projects
- Data analytics experience
- Worked with large scale cloud infrastructures
