As a Front End Software Engineer at Matmatch, you will specialise in building responsive and elegant web applications that can scale to millions of users in dozens of languages. Engineers are an essential part of the Matmatch Team. Working closely with designers, you will implement the user interface of our web app while making the most of modern tools like React, ES6, and SASS, and ensuring our UIs work well on all screen sizes.

- Collaborate with Experience Designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our product
- Work with Data Scientists and Backend Engineers to build features and ship experiments
- Build efficient and reusable front-end systems and abstractions
- Find and address performance issues
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Identify and communicate front-end best practices
- Design and implement new user-facing features in Matmatch’s products
- Write client-side code for web-based applications
- Create fast, easy-to-use, high volume production application code, and develop prototypes quickly

What we are looking for:
- Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of working experience with client side web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript
- Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
- Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
- Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages
- Familiarity with server-side MVC web frameworks, such as Spring Boot
- Ability to speak and write English fluently and idiomatically
