Position Summary 

As a Principal Engineer you will help define DocuSign’s Reliability strategy and engineering roadmap pertaining to our best-in-class carrier grade software and systems. As a Principal Engineer and technical leader at DocuSign you will drive Reliability engineering practices across teams focused on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation. 

Responsibilities

• Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of DocuSign’s services
• 
  
• Own end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
• 
  
• Lead by example and evangelize reliability engineering’s mission across technical teams
• 
  

Basic Qualifications

• 
  
• BS in CS, EE or equivalent
• 
  
• 12+ years of hands on software development experience in C# .NET / Java / C++ or other OOP language with experience in multi-thread programming, preferably with strong expertise in the SaaS domain
• 
  
• Demonstrated judgment prioritizing between operational excellence and feature development
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• Familiarity with MS Stack
• 
  
• Proficiency working with algorithms, data structures and production troubleshooting.
• 
  
• Expertise in problem solving and analyzing global scale distributed systems.
