Application Support Engineer at Noggin (Sydney, Australia)

Why become an Application Support Engineer at Noggin?

You're a problem solver at heart. You love to dig into and investigate issues as well as come up with super smart solutions to the problems you're solving. You love working with LAMP technologies and you're excited at the prospect of working on a complex beast of an enterprise software solution. You're also keen to work in a role where you get to touch on software development, a bit of devops and working with massive databases.

You will be working on a pre-existing software platform that helps our clients manage disruption smarter - from evacuations of major cities, counter-terrorism and emergency response to saving beached whales or fighting Ebola. Achieving this is no mean feat, so your investigation, coding and solution design will need to be top-notch!

Our team at Noggin houses some of the brightest and most innovative web-based software developers in Australia. Your voice is heard and valued because you have direct access to our senior management. As a Noggin developer, you will be able to  influence the strategy, design and development of our products.

What does it take to be a Noggin?

You're an experienced Application Support Engineer / PHP Developer who has a solid track record of delivering complex, commercial software applications using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript. You're passionate, you possess the 'nerd gene' and you have a work on complex, chunky software development problems daily as well as write good, clean code.

Ideally you have some sort of tertiary qualification but more importantly you have significant, demonstrated experience working on large, complex software applications and you're 100% comfortable using our tech stack (LAMP).  Of course we believe in using the right tool for the job - but we predominantly use Linux, Apache, PHP, PHP Unit MySQL, JavaScript and Bash. We have our own, in house, custom framework  and our collaboration tools include Git, Confluence and Jira. The IDE you use is completely up to you.

Please apply via the online application link. For further information or to arrange a confidential discussion, please email talent@noggin.io.

You will need to hold unrestricted working rights for Australia to be considered for this role.
