We’re looking for a generally nice and smart person to join our development team in Berlin.

You And Your Role

• You’re a developer by heart.

• Java is a programming language that you happily use and you’re familiar with the tools.
• 
  
• You don’t have to have a fully developed skill set, but you have an interest in quickly learning new stuff.
• 
  
• You understand the benefits of having just the right number of tests that test just the right things.
• 
  
• For a start, you’d primarily write Java for our backend services. In our backend, we enable and perform all the linguistic processing that works at the heart of our product. Ideally, you’re not limited to programming in Java. Maybe you know some JavaScript, TypeScript, Clojure, Go, or Python.

You choose the developing tools and computer environment that you’re most comfortable with.

You have a knack for building the right product, modeling the right entities, or coming up with the best abstractions and concepts possible. You engage with your team in discussions. You can follow discussions in German and participate in English. You’re someone who enjoys sharing knowledge with teammates, asking for help, and providing support when they need it.

Maybe you’ve experience with tools like Maven, Gradle, or Git, with databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL, or DB2, with Linux, AWS, or Jenkins, with Ember.js, GWT, CSS, LESS, or one of the other 300+ open source libraries that we use? You speak Japanese, Chinese, or Spanish? Cool, we’re sure you’ll get a chance to apply your skills.
