Summary


Responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in a Global DevOps environment. This includes the prioritization, planning, designing, development, testing, deployment and support of software and web applications in a 24x7 environment. This position requires strong engineering and quality disciplines while working in an agile environment. The best candidate is someone who excels in big picture' thinking. They understand what's required to solve a problem in a variety of dimensions. Collaborates closely with business partners to understand the project requests, discussing scope and budget, while working towards agreements on timelines. Participates in developing team and personnel objectives. This role has a large degree of impact on business results, and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees and contractors. Manages every phase of the project life cycle from intake through delivery. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities.

Core Responsibilities
- Provides strong leadership to our teams and displays an extremely high level of communication and collaboration.
- Become an integral player in the team transformation as we grow the team's responsibilities while continuing the migration to a Global DevOps environment.
- Oversees the planning and designing of software and web applications, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications.
- Provides guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering, business partners, vendors and other teams.
- Directs implementation initiatives for new software products and applications. Organizes software update process for existing applications and coordinates the roll-out of software releases.
- Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets. Implements performance metrics and prepares period reports and/or proposals. Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership team.
- Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
- Provides leadership and direction to department personnel from lower-level managers to non-exempt employees.
- Manages cross-project communications.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary for urgent operational situations.

Job Specification:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Engineering, Computer Science
- Generally requires 8-11 years related experience
