Job Summary


As Revinate’s Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you are responsible for ensuring Revinate continues to meet its SLA obligations. As part of the Infrastructure team in Tacoma, WA, you’ll work closely with the Infrastructure and product engineering teams across Tacoma and San Francisco to accomplish Revinate’s infrastructure goals and keep all of Revinate’s services highly available, reliable, secure and scalable.


The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of Linux systems, Containers ecosystem, networking protocols, desire to build the necessary tools in order to accomplish the task at hand. The candidate will think in terms of automation and prevention of issues across services.


Job Responsibilities:



  • You will be responsible for keeping all Revinate’s services running in Rackspace, AWS and Google Cloud

  • Build and scale highly available distributed microservices with high quality of service for customers

  • Implementation of proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and build self-healing systems

  • Manage Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch environments and build company-wide standards for using these services

  • Troubleshoot failures and performance issues across services and put in preventive measures

  • Influence design/architecture of Revinate’s services to proactively prevent system failures

  • Participate in on-call rotations, driving restoration

  • Participate in scrum teams as service level owner and provide consultation on using the services maintained by the SRE team



Required Skills and Experience



  • 3+ years of managing distributed SaaS systems in public and private cloud environments. AWS experience preferred.

  • 1+ years of experience in Kubernetes / Docker environment. CoreOS experience would be preferred

  • 3+ years of experience with Unix / Linux system administration

  • 2+ years of practical experience building continuous delivery pipelines

  • 2+ years of experience with 12-factor web applications

  • Proficient in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby

  • Practical experience with MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch is required

  • Experience in managing Kafka, Spark environment would be preferred

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is required
