We are looking for a talented Node.js developer who will be responsible for managing the interchange/processing of data between our server and our users. for an exciting project. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the MongoDB powered database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to user requests. You will also be responsible for architecting much of the back-end elements alongside the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
- Insure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end services
- Collaborate with other team members (including our senior developer) and stakeholders
- Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Integration of data storage solutions
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript, understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
- High proficiency in Node.js development and Express framework
- Experience with Redis
- Knowledge of MySQL Database systems and MongoDB
- Experience in Google Cloud Machine Learning API’s (Vision, Speech, Natural Language) highly desirable
- Experience or interest in Chatbot technology
- AWS EC2/RDS/S3 Experience
- AWS API Gateway Experience with Lambda functions
- Knowledge in New Relic APM
- Understanding of security compliance
- Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
- Basic understanding of server-side templating languages & CSS preprocessors
- User authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Understanding of automated testing/deployment scripts/platforms and unit tests
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools - GIT
- Knowledge or interest in Solidity, Truffle and Ganache is a plus
