Unizin is a consortium of research universities that is working together to improve digital teaching and learning higher education. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team in downtown Austin. This is an opportunity to use your skills for a non-profit that is making a difference in the future of education.
ABOUT THE ROLE - What you'll do
- Use React, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and more every day
- Become an expert in the Unizin Content Platform and the Engage Teaching and Learning Delivery Tools
- Work with UX and FrontEnd to build beautiful applications for Faculty and Students
- Design and Develop highly scalable infrastructure and APIs to manage the lifecycle of instructional content
- Work in an agile-based environment using tools like GitHub and Slack
- Work with DevOps to containerize and and CI/CD applications and services in the AWS cloud
- Participate in architecture decisions and communicate and collaborate with other engineers
- Collaborate with other teams including product, services, support, and our member university technology staff as needed
ABOUT YOU - Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years experience building commercial scaled applications in the cloud
- Production experience with AWS
- Production experience building React based front ends
- Python/Django experience
- PostgreSQL experience
- Ability to and interest in mentoring junior developers on your team
- A preference for small teams and organizations
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
