We have an immediate need for a Guidewire ClaimCenter QA Tester with hands-on software testing skills who can work on-site testing ClaimCenter for Nautilus, Admiral and Vela, 3 companies in the E&S segment, and then transition into a Center of Excellence team for ongoing support and enhancements. The ideal candidate has expertise in the insurance domain in a multi-tier web application environment and experience with Scrum or other Agile PM methodologies. Guidewire ClaimCenter expertise would be an additional asset for this role, but is not required.


Quality assurance (QA) testing analysts, also known as testing analysts or testers, are primarily responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure the delivered solution meets project requirements and handles data in a predictable, error-free way.  This role will also encompass the development and execution of the QA strategy and testing plans for the configuration, integration, regression and user acceptance testing needs post-production.


Essential Duties:



  • Learn and master the Guidewire ClaimCenter V9.0 product in order to become a QA testing resource and achieve Guidewire certification, if not already certified

  • Consult with technical and business resources to produce the testing strategy and approaches, including traceability, continuous integration and automated vs. manual testing preferences

  • Partner with developers and the business teams to understand the ClaimCenter product configuration and workflow objectives and integration requirements

  • Estimate the effort required to test the software

  • Plan and execute configuration testing, integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing of new releases

  • Participate in a Scrum based product implementation of ClaimCenter with 3 companies; Nautilus, Admiral and Vela


Responsibilities:



  • Managing testing and related processes for ClaimCenter development projects and ongoing enhancements

  • Defining the post-production QA testing strategy for new product releases and enhancement work

  • Developing an integrated end-to-end functional test plan, including manual and automated test cases

  • Working closely with business analysts and developers to identify, script, and execute functional test cases

  • Developing a configuration, regression, system and integration test plan and related test cases

  • Developing a user acceptance test plan to ensure adequate coverage of end user business requirements

  • Executing test plans for the entire Claim Center life cycle from FNOL to financial transactions

  • Testing of internal back-end legacy system interfaces and external medical, legal and financial reporting interfaces

  • Auditing unit test results of developers

  • Participation in estimation sessions on selected stories to be developed during sprints

  • Tracking issues identified in testing and reporting defects to developers and product engineers

  • Understanding vendor release changes and testing requirements to satisfy those releases and communicating to the business

  • Developing QA key measures and dashboards


Qualifications:



  • S. Degree in Computer Information Systems or an A.A. Degree in Computer Information Systems



  • 4-5 Years of experience in Information Technology with emphasis on Quality Assurance and Testing



  • Experience with full cycle enterprise software/package implementations

  • Proficient in requirements traceability matrices, manual testing and test automation tools (i.e. Rational, HP)

  • Expertise in software testing of the Insurance domain vertical and implementing quality processes and procedures

  • Experience testing web applications developed on JAVA, J2EE and .Net Technologies

  • Experience in testing web services

  • Experience in automated testing methods, procedures and/or tools

  • Experience in testing database SQL Server applications

  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile PM methodologies

  • Proven expertise in planning and executing functional testing, regression testing and integration testing

  • Extensive experience in writing test plans, test cases, defect reports and developing test scripts, traceability matrices

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Adept at learning new technologies quickly

  • Experience in Guidewire Claim Center Application Testing preferred, but not required

  • Certification in Guidewire is an asset, but not required
