STORAGE ENGINEER (CONTRACT)

The Storage Engineering Analyst position requires an individual to be able to assess and understand company data storage and backup needs, select the appropriate products and develop the appropriate processes to meet those needs, and certify the solutions for deployment. These activities include:

  • Storage/Backup technology evolutions including staying abreast of industry developments and actively participating in discussions with storage/backup vendors
  • Develop integrated processes and support tools for the products
  • Participate in storage/backup management infrastructure certification activities
  • Develop detailed deployment & operational documentation for the products and processes
  • Develop and steward security risk assessments for storage/backup products
  • Perform capacity and growth planning/forecasting as part of design with specific performance requirements
  • Attend SWAT or incident resolution calls as Level 3 resource. Consult in root cause analysis

Additionally, some operational support activities are required including backups & storage arrays, monitoring tools, and archive system break/fix support.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATOINS:

  • MUST HAVE Strong knowledge of storage and backup technology
  • Windows Server and/or UNIX OS experience and knowledge
  • Design and planning for SAN/NAS storage arrays and backup tools based on best practices
  • SAN Switch Infrastructure design with best practices
  • Automation, testing, API development, UNIX/Windows scripting, CI/CD Pipeline
  • Hypervisor (VMware/Hyper-V) knowledge
  • Operations Support Tools (SCCM, SCOM, OCI, OCUM, Zenoss, etc.)
  • SQL queries, Tableau and/or any other reporting tools
  • IT Security Practices and change management
