The Core team is a department within BIO Group Lending & Payments Commerce. Our highly critical systems support transactions for millions of card users in Sweden and in the Baltic countries. We operate in a very fast moving environment in tight cooperation with our business.

About the job


The Commerce area is becoming more and more global and is in constant change. Although Swedbank has a leading card acquiring position in Sweden and the Baltics, there are significant opportunities for growth within the E-com channels. The main objective for our unit – Group Commerce BIO (Business Information Office) – is to facilitate business with developing new and maintaining existing IT solutions.
You will, together with the team, be involved in both development and maintenance activities with focus in development. The authorization system, Base24, performs card transaction processing, authorization and switching functions for Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Denmark and Norway. The system processes millions of card transaction authorizations daily and at peak time over 420 transactions per second. Base24 is developed in TAL in a HP Nonstop environment.


You will interact with Business stakeholders, customers, other Developers and Architects.

What you need to succeed


You have experience of Card Authorization Systems or other systems in the payment area and/or have a good grip of the HP Nonstop/Tandem.


As a person you need to be a team player, driven and flexible who enjoys sharing your knowledge and learning from your colleagues. You are motivated by learning and taking on new responsibilities.



  • You understand or have some experience in Tal or other structured programming language(s)

  • Knowledge about the card acquiring or issuing business is an advantage.

  • Preferably you have experience from HP Nonstop environment

  • Good with experience from Agile way of working

  • A Degree in IT/Software development

  • Good language skills in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
