Overview:

• Sr Java Developer with experience in working with data - ETL, SQL, Relational Databases and stored proceedures
• SQL Server and/or Oracle
• Integration Experience
• Great communication skills both verbal and written
• This role eventually will lead into a Techical Data role

This Developer Specialist position is responsible for a deep understanding and support of all ALIP environments and Integrations. Understands the relationships between the ALIP Application, ALIP environments, Oracle databases, and Surrounding Systems. Influences delivery approaches at the project level. Follows and influences development guidelines. Routinely leads technical team for a set of solutions or projects.

Skills:

• Must have extensive enterprise level experience doing systems analysis and development with Java based technologies
• Must have extensive experience with XML, XSL, Schema, DTD
• Must have extensive experience with SQL, relational databases , store procedures (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
• Must have experience in designing batch and real-time integrated solutions
• Solid working knowledge of systems design process and methodology as well as knowledge / use of systems tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and other applications / software as required
• Must understand and be able to specify appropriate use of ETL
• Must understand appropriate use of synch and asynch processes (pros and cons)
• Must understand load balancing
• Must understand message routing
• Must understand information privacy, information security

• Prefer basic Unix knowledge
• Prefer experience in Financial Services (Fixed and Variable Annuities, Life) and ACORD
• 4 year degree or equivalent work experience
