Full-Time, Operations Database Analyst Opportunity
Note: This is not a contract position and this role is based onsite in downtown Minneapolis. All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

FastBridge Learning, based in downtown Minneapolis, seeks an Operations Database Analyst who will play a key role in our TechOps team to ensure our customers have a positive experience in using our FAST application in our production environment. This application is hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Various monitoring tools will be leveraged in this role to identify and mitigate any potential issues or concerns in the performance of our database servers, driving for a high quality and seamless user experience for our customers. In addition to monitoring and troubleshooting our production environment, this position will partner with cross-functional teams to assist with other operational tasks to address customer requests, issues, or bugs such as data merges, data mapping, etc.
What You Will Do:
You will work in an open and collaborative environment alongside other dedicated and inclusive team members, to deliver and support our high-quality application that equips educators to transform the way they measure and monitor student progress in reading, math and social-emotional behavior with faster, more effective results!
Responsibilities will include performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all database hardware, database server resources, systems and key processes, and reviewing any necessary logs verifying completion of scheduled jobs. This individual will monitor SQL server performance during peak activity, ensure database availability and recovery and assist operations team to ensure compliance with security and privacy policy programs protecting data. This position will also require the individual to engage and support Software Engineers, Product Manager, and Quality Assurance Analysts to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Other responsibilities include: crafting new documentation and procedures as appropriate and update existing documentation regularly to ensure currency of information, update, maintain and test Disaster Recovery procedures, perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning, perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades resource optimization as required, and provide emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule.

Heres What We Seek in the Ideal Candidate:
Required Education & Experience -
-
Minimum of 2+ years of working experience with SQL Server 2008+ and SSIS

Substantial professional, on the job experience in T-SQL Scripting

3+ years experience supporting the operational database aspects of implementing and continually improving system and network monitoring and alerting capabilities and procedures

Minimum 1 year of working experience in creating and maintaining process and procedure documentation

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues involving database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, connectivity, security

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field; OR equivalent experience

Demonstrated ability to successfully complete multiple complex technical tasks

Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills

Working knowledge of productivity software i.e. Google, Microsoft, Slack, etc.

Experience in working with a cloud based application (ie. SaaS)

Experience with other database technologies, especially MySQL and PostgreSQL

Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools including, New Relic, Alertra, and Papertrail/Splunk/Sumo (log monitoring).
