Our client, a major Media & Entertainment company, is seeking a Software Engineer responsible for the design and implementation of software and scripts related to file-based Media Workflows to enable media movements between their national and local networks. You must have EXCELLENT skills developing with Python, Full Stack experience, and experience integrating systems. You must also have recent experience working in the Media space (Broadcasting or Entertainment) with an understanding of MAM - Media Asset Management.
Responsibilities:
. Full stack Developer and Architect, responsible for building system solutions and integration tools, including the use of 3rd party RESTful APIs
. Work with technical operations team and develop scripts and dashboards to monitor system performance, gather key metrics and generate reports
. Work with business units to understand needs and develop project requirements
. Identify automation opportunities within the media management space and develop maintainable software-based solutions, including client-side and server-based scripts
. Create documentation regarding code deployment and support, training operational staff on software functionality and basic troubleshooting
. Serve as an escalation point to internal teams helping to identify and resolve complex, software-based issues involving media management technologies
. Primary user interface (UI/UX) designer, working with users to configure and adjust commercial (off-the-shelf) application interfaces for maximum usability
. Back-end/Front-end developer for a dynamic software development team, working to design and implement software tools for internal-facing products and custom developed media management tools
. Assist in user support and training on key Media Management technologies as required
Required Skills:
. 3+ years working as a Full Stack Developer, leading software development and some architecture design
. 3+ years Scripting languages: Python, Ruby, PHP, AutoHotKey and JavaScript
. 3+ years designing and implementing interfaces, preferably RESTful APIs and web
. Some Media workflow and orchestration development experience
. Working knowledge of a front-end framework (ie: Django, Rails, Flask, web.py), key front-end technologies (ie: JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
. Working knowledge of back-end development tools as well as common JavaScript libraries preferable
. Some experience with enterprise-level Media Asset Management or Digital Asset Management platforms, preferably Avid Interplay MAM (additionally, VizRT, MediaBeacon, Dalet)
. Working knowledge of documentation tools like Atlassian Confluence, Jira, etc.
. Detailed knowledge of Windows operating systems, with the ability to perform administrative tasks including configuration and troubleshooting
. Knowledge of versioning tools like GitHub, SVN, etc.
. Basic knowledge of relational database structures and SQL
. Ability to work regular hours and flexible schedules including weekends
¿. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field
Additional Desired Skills:
. Working in a software development team, preferably in an Agile/SCRUM environment
. Familiarity with Linux and UNIX-based operating systems, including RedHat variants (preferably some experience with RHEL 6), with the ability to perform basic administrative tasks
. Experience with MAM automation, preferably in Interplay MAM and SWoDL, highly desired
. Working with users to gather and create development requirements
