Job description



As a Java Architect (m/f/d), you will join our team consisting of Web Developers, Big Data Engineers, DevOps, Solution Architects, UX Experts and Product Managers. Together, we are striving to design and establish highly scalable, cutting edge web-based products based on advanced data science methods and multiple market research data sources.



Maximizing the user experience while building highly efficient infrastructures is what matters most to us. Generating interactive predictions and simulations for our clients based on billions of datapoints is our daily business.



You take pride in mastering the challenges of working in a highly agile development team, absolutely love the opportunity to get in touch with new technologies and people of different skillsets and you know that developing software is more than just writing code.



In that position, you’ll be looked after by Joachim, who is an experienced leader of Software Engineering, IT Operations and Product Management teams with a passion for encouraging team members to exploit their individual quirks to the benefit of the team.




Your specific tasks will include:



  • Design software architecture based on the business requirements as well as the non functional technical requirements

  • Choose the technologies for the implementation of each component and connections between the components

  • Adapt the software architecture to changed requirements or to changed environments

  • Maintain architecture documentation

  • Explain and evangalize the chosen architecture

  • Control the architecture during the next iteration of the system release

  • Plan, implement & maintain micro-services based on Java Technology

  • Being part of an agile, DevOps oriented team




We look for a profile with complementary skills, such as:



  • Extensive experience in Java Development with focus on Web Application

  • In depth know-how of Java frameworks for building scalable enterprise-grade microservices (eg. Spring)

  • In depth know-how in Web Application Client Side Frameworks and libraries

  • In depth know-how on RDBMS and data warehouse solutions (e.g. Hive, PostgreSQL, MySQL)

  • Experience in application of state-of-the-art software architecture  

  • Used to work in agile Scrum teams, ideally experienced with SAFe

  • Experience in Big Data applications is a plus
