Principal DevOps Engineer

Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a motivated and experienced DevOps engineer to join our Product Delivery platform. As part of the wider Subscription Platform, you will play an essential role in Autodesk’s transition from perpetual licensing to a subscription-based business model. You'll be responsible for strong infrastructure architecture and high availability of our business critical tier-1 platform.
Responsibilities
Setup and maintain a highly-scalable and highly-available distributed system
Automate everything – cloud infrastructure as code
Onboard services to containerized environment with CI/CD
Operate, monitor, and maintain our platform according to SLAs
Document infrastructure architecture and operational procedures
Perform ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure SLAs
Respond to escalated incidents after hours or on weekends to ensure 24/7 availability of our trie- 1 platform
• Perform maintenance or upgrades after hours or on weekends, minimizing impact on businesses and users, as required
Minimum Qualification
Experience with containerizing and deploying applications using Docker
Strong experience in technical ownership of cloud services – administration, provisioning,
deploying, monitoring and troubleshooting
Strong experience in running CI/CD pipeline for cloud services and desktop clients
Experience with AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail,
and IAM)
Experience administering SQL and NoSQL databases infrastructure
Experience automating using tools like Cloud Formation, deployment tools like Terraform, Chef or
Puppet, build tools like Ant or Maven and CI tools like Jenkins
Experience configuring and using monitoring tools like Dynatrace or New Relic, logging tools like
Splunk or ELK stack
Understanding, diagnostics, troubleshooting of JVM
Experience with Python/Perl/Unix shell scripting
Knowledge of networking and security concepts
Experience leading cross-team initiatives
Good organizational skills and the ability the track and prioritize several tasks
Experience working with international teams
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Over 10 years of continued professional experience of which 5 years should be in DevOps
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DirectConnect
Deep understanding of Linux internals like basic system calls, filesystem structure and
permissions, Unix signals and traps
Understanding of SSL (handshake, certificate authorities, JVM keystores)
Exposure to open source tools and libraries
Experience with enterprise applications like Siebel, SAP, Salesforce, and TIBCO a plus
