Junior Accessibility Analyst
Seeking a Junior Accessibility Analyst with experience in WCAG 2.0 identification plus remediation and training developers to improve student-facing applications.
This Opportunity is based in Washington, D.C.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop accessible solutions across a product suite
- Work on 3 platforms; Web, iOS and Android
- Analyze existing web applications for Accessibility issues and provide developers and designers with workable solutions
- Work with diverse team of product owners, UX designers, and developers in a fast paced and complex environment, with quick iterative cycles
- Analyze future designs and provide feedback to Product Owners and others to ensure Developers receive accessible designs and specs on new features
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in accessible (508/WCAG) testing and analysis
- Understanding of SDLC and the technical and business challenges that come with development of a product
- Ability to work in multiple fast-paced teams
- Thorough, methodical, problem solver and creative with extreme attention to detail
- Knowledge of and ability to discuss ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) solutions
- Knowledge of and ability to discuss HTML5, CSS, JavaScript solutions
- Passion for making websites and applications accessible to all users
Ideal Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, User Experience, or a related field.
- Past Experience as a Developer and/or Accessibility Consultant
- Past Experience in QA
- Deep, demonstrable Subject Matter Expertise in WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards
- Experience using Accessibility testing tools AND screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA and Voiceover
- Experience performing accessibility audits on web applications, iOS apps, Android apps AND providing solutions to developers with little accessibility expertise.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Expert at time management as well as working & finding answers to questions independently
- Understanding of UX and the design techniques and principals involved in the production of conceptual prototypes and wireframes
