At SUSE we're building the next-generation container orchestration platform based on Kubernetes, and are looking for a passionate Agile practitioner to guide our EMEA based development team.
Specifically, we are a team working to make the SUSE Container as a Service Platform the most easy to use and administer Kubernetes distribution out there. To achieve this, we make use of many open source projects, including Kubernetes, Salt, Docker, Ruby-on-Rails and more. This is an outstanding opportunity to build highly available, microservice based distributed systems utilizing some of the latest cuttingedge container technologies.

Your Responsibilities
- Guide the teams on using Agile principles and Agile framework practices to delight customers.
- Coaching the teams to a higher level of Agile maturity.
- Provide advice to teams regarding improving execution efficiency.
- Facilitate team ceremonies and gently guide teams to follow their agreed processes.
- Report outwardly on team progress and performance to key stakeholders and by doing so improve transparency of the teams’ working for other groups.
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-finding and problem-solving.
- Identify and remove impediments for the teams by working collaboratively with other groups within the company.
- Assist our product owners with regular backlog grooming. Educate product owners regarding the quality of the product backlog.
Qualifications
- BS CS (or equivalent) + 4 years experience or MS CS (or equivalent) + 2 years experience in a software development or engineering team.
- Operating as part of an Agile or Lean/Kanban software development team.
- Operating as a dedicated Scrum Master/Agile Leader within a software development team.
- Experience implementing one or more Agile tools such as Jira, Rally etc.
- Experience with open source software development
- Experience with public clouds (AWS or Azure.)
- Experience with private clouds (OpenStack or CloudStack.)
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Programming in at least two or more high-level languages: Go, Java, C#, C++, Python, Ruby.
- Expertise in software architecture to include REST, Micro-services, distributed systems, concurrency.
- Database experience including deployment and management of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Linux operating system – 3 years.
- Deployment technologies such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- Detailed knowledge of best practices including test driven development and continuous integration.
