Your role
As a software engineer at SO1, you will be a core part of the software team and will be responsible for the design, development, and improvement of complex software systems and APIs. Together with our high-class researchers you will translate algorithm prototypes into production-ready code and manage the full software stack from ground up. SO1 is running on Scala - so whether you are a Scala veteran or you are a Scala novice, we expect you to constantly learn and refine your skill set. On the other hand, SO1 as a company and especially our experienced team of senior engineers will support you on your personal development path.
Your profile
Must have
- Strong core computer science and algorithm knowledge
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservice architecture, concurrent programming
- Excellent JVM knowledge
- Basic experience in Scala and functional programming
- Getting things done attitude, goal orientation
Nice to have
- NoSQL and columnar data stores knowledge
- Understanding of messaging systems
- Azure or other cloud providers experience
- API design knowledge
- Experience with high throughput, 24/7 availability systems
- Interest in machine learning methods
