Marin’s Application Operations team is passionate about preventing customer issues and delivering reliable and performant technology. The Engineer must understand Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies and technologies to allow Content Technology to rapidly innovate in support of business needs.

We are currently underway on a major initiative to transition entirely to Big Data and are seeking an expert in production delivery and support, for Hadoop and its various components.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain multiple production and pre-production Hadoop clusters ranging in size from 10 – 250 nodes and approaching 3PB capacity.
- Use your experience to influence and improve a rapidly moving platform development project and migration from relational DB to BigData.
- Identify application reliability and performance improvements, tweak and optimise the Hadoop clusters to improve the experience for our customers.
- Triage, deep dive and troubleshoot complex issues in the Marin application and infrastructure across not only Hadoop systems but also Java, MySQL, messaging, PHP, NGINX, node.js and other open source technologies.
- Proactively implement monitoring using Nagios, graphite, cacti and other tools or scripts to empower diagnostic improvements and prevent incidents.
- Collaborate with Engineering, QE, PM and Ops contacts resources to provide technical expertise and support for key technical initiatives.
Requirements
- 4+ years of solid Technical engineer operations support experience dealing with global 24x7 SaaS application production sites.
- 2+ years each of in-depth support expertise, for several of broad range of technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, Hbase, Presto, Hive, Phoenix, Zookeeper, Kafka with Java/PHP/Python applications running on Linux(RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu).
- Experience with support for high availability, high user & data volume clustering, with above technology stack.
- Strong automation and instrumentation skills with at least two of Python, PHP, Shell, Ansible, Puppet, Foreman.
