Personalised Marketing is a new department with the mission to create a data-driven, automated and personalised digital marketing for Zalando. As a (Senior) Software Engineer you’ll work on the creation of internal tools to automate the ad-creation, management and/or bidding. In our cross-functional team, you’ll work closely with product managers, data scientists and data engineers and bring our marketing to the next level.

You will also be responsible of shaping a scalable and performant architecture of the internal systems that you will be working on.

Ownership. You will have end to end responsibility of all of your projects and will focus on building scalable and cloud ready software solutions in our AWS and API-first tech environment.
Excellence. You will join a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standards when it comes to the quality of your code and implementation. You will add value by leveraging current trends in software design, architecture and web services.
You Are Skilled
Technology. In working with Python, Scala or Java and relational databases. You understand the properties of large scale distributed systems and have proven experience as a back-end developer. You are familiar with microservice architecture and RESTful APIs, particularly using a cloud infrastructure such as AWS. Experience or knowledge in frontend development with Angular or React and NoSQL databases is a plus.

Motivated. In making a positive impact on our engineering culture and encouraging knowledge sharing. Write clean, modular, well-annotated code that will make it easier to maintain, update, and scale.
