What we expect from you
A great Research Engineer at TomTom can’t be defined. There is no one way to go about the work, and everyone is different. But to be successful in this role, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:
· Experience in conducting research, for example demonstrated through a PhD.
· Excellent knowledge of C++ and Agile software development.
· Deep knowledge of (at least one) research areas that are relevant for TomTom’s future developments, including Data Science, Mobility as a Service, Traffic Control, Cloud Services, Algorithm Engineering, Smart Cities, Internet of Things, Automotive Software, and a desire to master more.
· Desire to work in an interdisciplinary team, contributing with your unique skills to the joint success.
· Willingness to travel to other TomTom offices, research partner locations, and events, mostly within Europe.
· Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and in writing. Proficiency in the local language (Dutch, German, or Polish) is a plus.
