QA Automation Engineer (f/m) at Delivery Hero SE (Berlin, Germany)

About your role:

Our QA personnel first and foremost, foster team responsibility around quality. However, you maintain expertise in the subject and fulfill all aspects of assuring and aiding quality which include involving your team mates in testing activities and/or performing them yourself. Such activities include writing and maintaining automated tests, developing test plans and scenarios, performing exploratory testing, or improving processes and practices for integrating quality into the software development lifecycle.

You will be part of an agile development team working on end-to-end solutions for customer care such as developing an order management system.

You will report to your development team lead. 

Responsibilities towards your development team:

• Foster team responsibility around quality and work with them to make quality part of the development process.
• 
  
• Review current quality assurance processes of the team and provide suggestions as required.
• 
  
• Perform exploratory and usability testing when necessary.
• 
  
• Analyze results of software testing efforts and ensure transparency around findings.
• 
  
• Raise quality concerns to team members and foster high quality standards.
• 
  
• Maintain the “big picture” view of the product including dependencies, product and organizational goals, technology etc.
• 
  
• Work closely with the team to ensure the product and environment(s) are designed for testability.
• 
  
• Execute test planning, testing sessions, test case generation and risk assessments.
• 
  
• Design and develop test automation framework(s) ensuring that tests are easily maintainable and can be used efficiently.
• 
  
• Automate regressions and repeated executions.
• 
  
• Integrate automated tests into our CI (Jenkins).
• 
  
• Stay on top of best practices and industry standards.
• 
  
• Occasionally pair with developers to ensure bi-directional knowledge sharing.
• 
  
• Process and validate bug reports from clients and customer care to ensure all relevant information is available to the development team.
•

• Collaborate with your QA colleagues on improvements to common practices/ tools/ processes and share knowledge and experience.

Your heroic skills:

• 2 years of experience in test automation engineering.
• 
  
• 3 years of experience in quality assurance processes and practices.
• 
  
• Proficient in both verbal and written English.
• 
  
• Experience with CI tools like Jenkins or Travis.
• 
  
• Knowledge of dynamic languages like Python or JavaScript.
• 
  
• Experience with version control systems (git).
• 
  
• Good understanding of web architectures and technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, Docker. 
•
