Senior Automation Tester at Cake Solutions - A BAMTECH Media Company (Greater Manchester, UK)

Here at Cake we are currently seeking a Senior Automation Tester to join our ever expanding Manchester based team. Working across the organisation you will be collaborating with the development teams as they deploy new applications on a global basis.

 As a Senior Automation Tester you will have the exciting opportunity to test enhancements and changes to client software applications to the highest quality and accuracy. Testing will be focused on exercising APIs in terms of correctness and performance as well as Front end (browser) feature testing across websites and mobile technologies. This is predominantly a development role with focus on automation, repeatability, performance and quality assurance.

A successful candidate will have commercial experience of automated test tools with an agile environment as well as the necessary verbal and written communication skills to communicate progress to senior stakeholders in a project.

Responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, developing, improving and extending test frameworks to allow the project and application to scale out to support both legacy and new features.

• Developing integration and end-to-end automated tests using functional automation tools.
• 
  
• Continually learning relevant new technologies to ensure tools being used are best in market.
• 
  

Skills & Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 
  
• Knowledge of continuous integration & continuous deployment in the Cloud.
• 
  
• Experience of leading a team
• 
  
• Industry experience 
• 
  
• Experience in creating automated test suites.
• 
  
• Experience of using one of the following programming languages: Ruby/Python/Java/JavaScript
• 
  
• Knowledge of performance testing techniques
• 
  
• Penetration testing, basic web design skills/technical knowledge & published work on GitHub would definitely be an advantage.
•
