Duties: Perform all pre-production performance testing and servicing of the Bank's core mainframe applications. Utilize high-end integrated production infrastructure testing environments, such as Mainframe zSeries and HP Non-stop & distributed. Design testing approaches and manage the end-to-end quality life cycle of technology sponsored projects. Use LoadRunner to execute performance tests such as load, stress, volume, and endurance tests and analyze the results. Certify all major code or infrastructure changes made to applications under production scale workloads before promoting to production. Certify application code releases and note any performance impacts under production scale workloads. Verify impacts of any infrastructure changes, such as maintenance releases, H/W, and OS upgrades, under production scale workloads. Validate fail-over/recovery scenarios and measure any impact to response times/interruption during execution of these scenarios. Find processing ceilings, for maximum transactions per second or concurrent users, to prepare organization for high volume card transaction days or mergers. Design and develop automated scripts for the applications using LoadRunner based on business use cases. Design scenarios to evaluate the performance of applications in LoadRunner. Monitor application and web server metrics using CA Wily Interscope, IBM Mainview, and Prognosis tools.


Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as a Performance Lead, Performance Engineer, Performance Automation Tester, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a Performance Lead, Software Engineer, Performance Automation Tester, or related occupation in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience.



Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with: HP LoadRunner Performance Testing Suite; developing VuGen scripts for performance testing; setting up scenarios using LoadRunner Controller; using analysis to generate reports; developing performance test plans and performance test scenarios using requirements and design documents while specifying the testing overview, approach, strategy, scope, architecture, environment, roles and responsibilities; software quality assurance, defect tracking, and test strategy development; preparing and presenting test results and reports; Mainframe and HP Non-Stop; application development and performance tuning; Java; Perl; Shell scripting; Windows scripting; performance testing Web-based Middleware and Mainframe applications on different environments; Weblogic Tuning; JVM Tuning; performance analysis and capacity planning; Weblogic installation; domain setup; domain administration; Sitescope, Wily Introscope, or other Java monitoring tools; MQ; zOS/Mainframe; Mainview tool; Prognosis; RMI; Weblogic; Oracle; and JDBC.
