As an experienced developer with excellent problem-solving abilities, you will bring your expertise in functional and object orientated languages, with a keen interest in financial markets technology.


You will work alongside a group of dynamic technologists that are responsible for various, in-house developed core trading and trade management components which are well funded, and play an integral role in our long-term technology strategy. These components are used by our business and integrate with downstream processes that need our data.


You will actively contribute to the development and enhancements of these business critical systems including coding, testing and shipping clean, elegant, refactored code in a variety of programming environments. Working closely with business users to understand and implement their system requirements, you will follow a DevOps attitude using an Agile Development approach. Our strong geographically-dispersed development team will offer you the opportunity to learn from senior and experienced developers as well as industry experts.


Key to your success in this role will be your willingness to learning new technologies. We anticipate that to excel in this role you will have:



  • Knowledge of functional programming, specifically Scala.



  • Solid Core Java application development experience (5+ years), working with services-oriented architectures.

  • Strong Computer Science background

  • Experience of Python / C++ / *nix / Reactive Programming very beneficial.


Whilst an understanding of Financial Services industry domain, with exposure to Trading or front-to-back banking processes, is a nice to have, it is not a requirement of the role.
