In the Pharma Biotech Development Recovery and DSP department, manufacturing processes are developed for the isolation of biotechnologically derived, therapeutically active proteins and peptides. As Data Scientist (m/f) you will support the establishment, application and continuing development of new computer-supported systems and approaches for efficient handling and evaluation of data in bioprocess development. This will include automated data integration, preparation and analysis of the data and also reporting the results. The objective is to support experimental process development using computer-supported analyses. As Data Scientist (m/f) your duties will include:
- Independent development of programming scripts and programs for automated recording, storage, integration, linking and analysis of data from existing data sources and current IT systems in the laboratory environment
- Your duties will also include the programming of software tools and components and their continuous expansion and improvement
- You will prepare and visualize the results of analyses for interactive access by all experts in the department
- This interesting range of tasks includes close cooperation with research and production units
- You will screen and evaluate current methods and procedures for efficient handling and analysis of process-related data
- You will actively network with other data scientists at national and international Roche locations and also with external partners
Who we are looking for:
- You have completed a master's or bachelor's degree in the field of Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Biostatistics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics (Bio)process Technology, Computational Science or similar
- You already have initial experience in data analysis in an academic or industrial environment
- Ideally, you have experience in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence and working with database systems
- You can demonstrate excellent programming knowledge in at least one of the following programming languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Python)
- We will be able to rely on your talent for organization, your proactive working style and your openness to new ideas
- Your interest in working in interdisciplinary teams and excellent English skills round off your profile
