In the Pharma Biotech Development department, manufacturing processes are developed for the production of biotechnologically derived, therapeutically active proteins and peptides. As Data Scientist (m/f) you will support the establishment, application and continuing development of new computer-supported systems and approaches for efficient handling and evaluation of data in bioprocess development. This will include preparation and analysis of the data and also reporting the results. The objective is to support experimental process development using computer-supported analyses. As Data Scientist (m/f) your duties will include:
- You will be supporting portfolio and technology projects in technical development applying your experience in the field of data science
- You will play an active role in the data science service based on the following methods (e.g. statistical modeling, supervised learning, machine learning, AI, database queries, business intelligence, knowledge management)
- Your duties will also include the programming of evaluation scripts, software tools and the structure and use of database systems along with their continuous expansion and improvement
- You will screen and evaluate current methods and procedures for efficient handling and analysis of data by statistical methods and machine learning
- You will actively network with other data scientists at national and international Roche locations and also with external partners
- You will be driven by the design, development, establishment and application of new systems and approaches for efficient handling and analysis of processing data in bioprocess development
- You will be interested in the presentation of complex facts to different target groups, including in English
Who we are looking for:
- You have completed a master's or bachelor's degree in the field of Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, (Bio)statistics, Bioprocess IT, (Bio)process Engineering, Computational Science or similar
- You will ideally have a higher degree or PhD in one of the above subjects
- You already have initial experience in data analysis in an academic or industrial environment in the field of data science or bioinformatics
- You can demonstrate excellent programming knowledge in at least one of the following programming languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Python)
- You will be excited by the idea of working in interdisciplinary teams and will stand out for your proactive working style and your openness to new ideas
- Yow will be noted for your creative work style beyond conventional ways of thinking
- Your strengths will also include proactive working and high motivation
- Your excellent spoken and written English skills round off your profile
