We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Senior Graphics Programmer to join our One World Terrain (OWT) team and help us solve interesting and hard problems related to geographical information systems (GIS), terrain capture and modeling, and global-scale real time rendering and simulation within game engines. The Programmer Analyst III will work as a graphics programmer with the Unity 3D game engine, as well as other graphics and simulation technologies in support of the OWT effort. The Programmer Analyst III will develop application design specifications based on analysis/assessment of user needs. Will develop, test, and install new software applications, and enhance functionality of existing application. Will design codes, tests, debug, install, document and maintain software applications. Will interact with a team of programmers, designers, content developers and other relevant stakeholders to determine the software application objectives, scope and requirements.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of graphics pipeline, DirectX, shaders, real time 3D rendering in game engines.
- Experience playing a substantive role in a project using a real time 3D renderer (ideally Unity).
- C# scripting for Unity 3D.
- Performance optimization for real time graphics and simulation.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines, and be able to use a high degree of judgment to make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills (hardware and software) and take ownership of additional tasks is required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills required.
- Proven ability to work independently on defined tasks and collectively as part of a broader team
- Desired interest includes UAS/drones/aviation, geospatial (GIS) systems and data sets, photogrammetry software and techniques and simulations.
- US citizenship or permanent resident status is required as this position may have access to sensitive information.
