METER Group, Inc. USA is looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our product development team. You will work with a team of software and hardware engineers to design IIoT sensing and control systems that are used for decision support and automation in the crop production industry. Prior experience developing code for embedded sensing and control systems is highly desired.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify firmware using high-level languages (C, C++, Python) and assembly code
- Independently make critical firmware-related product design decisions that are consistent with the product vision.
- Contribute to product success through consistent on time delivery of high quality, functioning firmware code
- Translate customer feedback into product design decisions, features, and functionality
- Flourish in a highly dynamic environment where requirements may change due to customer feedback or changes in technology
- Contribute to and maintain design and user documentation
- Test and validate embedded systems
- Collaborate and communicate with coworkers and development partners regarding firmware design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Minimum Qualifications:
- Desire to contribute to and influence the product vision
- Ability to translate the product vision into robust firmware code and architecture
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of industry experience
- Experience in hardware oriented firmware development
- Excellent programming skills in C language
- Familiarity with embedded Linux
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex M4 architecture or similar
- Excellent debugging skills
- Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics and layouts for code development purposes
- Experience with one or more revision control systems (subversion, mercurial, git, etc.)
- Experience with electrical tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and soldering)
- Experience with one or more defect tracking tools
- Familiarity with assembly code in one or more microcontroller families
- Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to relocate near Pullman, WA.
- Strong professional references
- Background check results satisfactory to METER
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scripting experience (Python preferred)
- Experience with wireless technologies (BLE, ZigBee, Thread, WiFi, etc.)
- Experience developing firmware for sensing systems.
