SmileDirectClub is seeking a PHP Developer responsible for leading the implementation and development of a Magento CMS solution. Your primary focus will be the initial rollout of a new CMS platform along with continual development and integration with our APIs. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application while ensuring high performance and responsiveness. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
Responsibilities:
Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules, both standalone and extensions of Magento.
Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
Integration of data storage solutions (may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.)
Establish and follow coding standards and best practices for PHP based development.
Collaborate with a team of architects working on multiple diverse projects.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level developers.
Convert technical proofs into working software in a clear and concise fashion.
Analyze and optimize inefficiencies in existing systems .

Clear and concise communication skills and advanced level of English.
Experience with Magento commerce platform.
Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (Magento, Laravel, etc.)
Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP
Understanding of MVC design patterns
Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming
Understanding accessibility and security compliance
Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
Strong understanding of code versioning tools, preferably Git
NoSQL and search engine experience; ElasticSearch, Couchbase, Redis, Mongo, Dynamo
RDBMS experience; Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
5-7 years as a PHP focused software engineer.
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience at an enterprise level.
